As my kids grow up, so do their friends. As the kids get older, us moms find hobbies that we hope to make a little money doing. I got back into my photography (which has exploded and I'm crazy busy now), and I have friends with crafting businesses, Baking, Fitness, Pet sitting and Kid sitting =).... if you want to call it that. Here's my shout out to all the MOMS who have taken their hobbies to the next level.
Today, its all about the Cake Pops!!!! If you are unsure what a cake pop is, its basically a small round cake placed on a stick covered in chocolate!!!! Very fun to eat and easy to serve!!!

All Cake pops are covered with a clear bag which is included in price!!!

Baby Claire is absolutely beautiful isnt she? Only 7 days old and such a calm baby. Mom says that she doesnt sleep at night so she's asleep almost all day. I know that a photoshoot is way different. Babies arent used to being posed and moved and posed again over and over, so its hard to get them to sleep. None the less, Claire was probably the "chillest" baby I've met. She was asleep for the beginning of the photoshoot, but then she was awake!!!! but not crying, not upset, easy to pose, but definitely awake! We get to see her beautiful blue eyes and she still is so peaceful!

Over the course of my career, I've changed my style, approach and artistic "eye." A lot of my new inspiration and motivation comes from other artists, friends, photographers and professionals. Recently I looked through a blog post by, Della White Photography and was inspired to have a different approach to my next family portrait session. I found that in the past I was trying to create a "photojournalistic" flare in an incredibly non-candid way. I wasnt doing to bad, but this family gave me the opportunity to guide them to truly just have a fun day on the trails of Oak Canyon Nature Center. Of course, I still did some posing and "look here" type of things, but not only did we have fun, but most all of the pictures are much more relaxed and casual. I'm loving this new approach and cant wait for my next "subjects" to experience the fun photoshoot without the "stress of posing."

There are many reason why I love what I do, but this has to be one of the top 3 things.
Lyla, here, is one of my best friends' daughters, my kids' friend and a girl that is booming with personality!!! She can be cuddly, sweet, silly, funny, helpful (...not helpful) and so many more things. On her family's photoshoot she showed me just about all of her sides. The little nuances that make person just who they are.... the person that we love. This is why being a family, kid, senior, wedding photographer is so rewarding. I'm a recorder of history. Lyla will not always be 4. We might forget that she loves the sounds of farts.... but not if I capture a picture of all of them making fart sounds and then laughing their heads off about it. Her family will have memories storied away of Lyla being exactly who she is, with all of her faces and exuberant personality traits.
